Chief Information Officer

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) reports to the Chief Operating Officer with working relationships with the Chief Executive Officer and other System Executives, leadership and management of all affiliate operating units.

Senior executive for information systems and technology for the health system and directs, coordinates and manages all Information Technology operations.A key responsibility will be to provide the leadership and vision for the strategic planning, operations, integration and implementation of information systems and services. Envisions, articulates, plans, develops, implements, maintains, monitors, evaluates and changes organization-wide strategic information systems with emphasis on patient care. Particular emphasis is placed on responsibility for understanding the impact of advanced information systems technology on patient care, teaching and research within a diverse and multi-sited health care system environment. The CIO will be an active and contributing member of the System’s executive management committed to making changes necessary for future growth and success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline
  • The ideal candidate will be a senior level IT executive from a hospital/health system setting with at least ten years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience
  • He or she must be knowledgeable in current health care trends and policies, and have the leadership ability and experience to establish and articulate a clear system-wide vision for IT.
  • A master’s degree in information technology, business, or health care administration is preferred
  • Ten years of information systems/medical records preferred.
