Compliance Manager/HIPAA Officer

• Oversight and guidance of the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures regarding the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal (HIPAA) and state laws and in accordance with the health care organization’s information privacy practices.
• Coordination and general oversight of facility related corporate compliance functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• The Compliance Manager / HIPAA Officer will establish and assure organization-wide implementation of St. Vincent Medical Vincent Medical Center policies and facility procedures in regard to privacy and access to patient health information by working collaboratively with the organization’s senior management, IS / IT manager, HIS director and the corporate responsibility officer
• Will perform initial and periodic information privacy risk assessments, conducts relate conducts ongoing compliance mo monitoring activities in coordination with the entity’s other compliance and operational assessment functions
• At least three (3) years of experience in some aspect of health care compliance

EDUCATION/LICENSED/CERTIFICATION

• Bachelors Degree is required
• Advanced Degree is preferred
• Compliance Certification from HCCA is preferred
