Daniel P. Boffa,

Since 1995, Dan Boffa has been designing and implementing health information technology training programs for clinicians and hospital administrators, and he has been a clinical super user in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He was strategic initiatives manager and leader of business operations for IT for UniCare, a subsidiary of WellPoint Inc. Dan has also worked as a quality improvement and data process manager for hospital core measures at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. Currently he sits on a clinical information technology committee for Rush University Medical Center, where he's informing the design of a new hospital. He is a member of the nursing informatics association CARING and has clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing, emergency department and home healthcare.

Dan is a graduate of the MSHI degree program at UIC. He also has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Rush University, Chicago, and a certificate in information technology from Triton College in River Forest, Ill. A licensed registered nurse in the state of Illinois, he is currently a clinical electronic medical record super user and nursing electronic medical record hospital trainer at Rush University Medical Center. He has been an adjunct faculty member at the UIC College of Applied Health Sciences since 2006.
