GET THE ONLINE LEARNING ADVANTAGE
Many students ask if there is a difference between a degree earned online versus earning a degree by attending classes on-campus. The answer is yes and no. At UIC, there is no distinction between students who earn their Master of Science in Health Informatics on-campus or online. Regardless of the method of course delivery, the degree is recognized exactly the same – a degree from a respected tier one research institution.
However, our online program is tailored to fit into the busy schedules of working professionals. Similar to our on-campus programs, online courses will require students to utilize textbooks that will be part of the instruction for each course. But, instead of driving to the campus, you turn on your computer and get to work. You have the power to fit education into your busy schedule.
All discussions are available on the course website and all class work (homework, writing assignments and exams) is completed and submitted online. Students can log in and view the course syllabus and assignments to help maintain pace with class studies.
As an online student, you are able to tap into a nationwide peer network. Because your classmates are located all over the country and in different disciplines, your learning experience is enhanced by their many unique perspectives and experiences. Whether you log-on during your lunch break or after you've put the kids to bed at night, you'll have 24/7 access to the UIC virtual classroom.
