Regional Vice President, Health Information Management

Responsibilities:

  • The position will have a key matrix relationship with the finance and operations executives at the health system.
  • Responsible for the effective management of the HIM functions at all regional health systems
  • Planning, organizing, controlling, directing, decision-making, financial performance, compliance with regulatory agencies, employee and customer satisfaction and productivity.
  • The position will have high visibility within the health system, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development at the system or corporate level

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline’s such as HIM
  • Seven years of work experience in information systems/Medical Records

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate must possess a minimum of five years experience in a management position in HIM in a large, progressive and complex environment
  • Multi-site experience is strongly preferred. Experience in administrative, staff and project management is required, as well as an extensive working knowledge of coding, revenue cycle and case management.
  • Knowledge of information systems and healthcare applications in addition to database applications and report writing skills is also required
  • The individual must be detail, results, solution and action-oriented and constantly updating knowledge
  • A master’s degree in HIM or a related field is preferred
  • Also preferred is certification as an RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS
