The UIC Health Information Management programs have one of the highest pass rates in the country for the RHIA exam.
We’re very pleased with the past rates. Our graduates are, for the most part, doing quite well. I would say looking at the graduates we’ve had from the first cohort, which graduated about two years ago now, we’re seeing about a ninety percent rate. I would say that the ones that are not passing the exam are because they’re not putting forth maybe the required attention, both while they’re in the program and right before they take the exam. It is a very serious exam. It needs quite a bit of studying. But if they do well in the program as far as keeping up with their studies, if they complete the RHAA review course that we give all our graduates at the very end, and if they study hard before they take the exam they should do quite well.
