Black Book Rankings, a customer service survey company for the software industry, recently conducted a poll in order to find the highest ranked electronic health and medical record organizations. Customers were asked to rank the health informatics tools in the areas of practice administration and revenue cycle management as well as document management, e-prescribing and accessibility.
MED3000 was ranked the top company based on customer experience and satisfaction among software used in multi-specialty clinics. Other health informatics companies that placed high in this category are NextGen Healthcare, Allscripts, Dr.Forst/Rcopia, Sage, Epic Systems and LSS Data, according to Black Book.
The survey also found that a majority of clinic physicians said that they need their electronic medical records to be easily customized, fast and accurate. However, most of these professionals do not think that usability is the main focus of the federal government when it establishes meaningful use standards.
Individuals who are interested in changes and advancements in electronic health and medical records may want to consider earning a health informatics degree to learn more about these topics. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, many careers in this industry, such as medical records technician, are rapidly expanding.
