Spyros Kitsiou, PhD
Assistant Professor, Biomedical and Health Information Sciences
Dr. Spyros Kitsiou is an Assistant Professor who has recently joined the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences (BHIS) at the College of Health Sciences, University of Illinois at Chicago. He comes to BHIS from HEC Montreal, where he was awarded a two-year fellowship from the Canada Research Chair in Information Technology in Health Care for his post-doctoral research under the mentorship of Dr. Guy Pare and Dr. Mirou Jaana. Prior to joining HEC Montreal, Dr. Kitsiou was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Macedonia and an Associate Research Scientist in several multi-national R&D projects in the area of eHealth, funded directly by the European Commission within the Leonardo Da Vinci and 7th Framework Programs for Research and Technological Development. He received a PhD in Applied Informatics with a concentration in Health Informatics from the University of Macedonia (Greece) in 2010.
Kitsiou received his PhD in Applied Informatics with a concentration in Health Informatics from the University of Macedonia located in Thessalonki, Greece.
