The Health Informatics accreditor of the University of Illinois Chicago is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Master of Science in Health Informatics has been reaffirmed through 2023. The Health Information Management accreditor of the University of Illinois Chicago is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The Master’s Degree Health Information Management Program is in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).  Students who complete the program satisfactorily will be eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification exam, pending accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). In order to be eligible to take any of the AHIMA professional HIM certification exams, including the RHIA, you must be a graduate of a CAHIIM-accredited program. Also, graduating from these CAHIIM-accredited programs assures your employer that you have the professional skills and knowledge from a curriculum that is relevant to the current electronic health record (EHR) environment.
